Cambodian National Assembly President to Visit Hungary, Attend Paris Peace Forum

PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Oct.21, 2025) —The president of Cambodia’s National Assembly, Khuon Sudary, will lead a high-level parliamentary delegation on an official visit to Hungary, followed by participation in the 8th Paris Peace Forum in France later this month.

The four-day visit to Hungary, from Oct. 24–28, is being made at the invitation of László Kövér, speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary. The visit aims to strengthen 69 years of diplomatic ties and deepen cooperation, friendship and solidarity between the two nations.

During her stay, Sudary is expected to hold bilateral talks with Hungarian leaders, including Speaker Kövér. Both sides plan to sign a memorandum of understanding between their national assemblies and secretariats to enhance parliamentary collaboration, exchange experiences and strengthen institutional partnerships.

She will also meet with Cambodian students studying in Hungary and visit industrial, tourism and cultural sites aimed at boosting people-to-people ties, trade, investment and cultural exchange.

After Hungary, she will travel to Paris to attend the 8th Paris Peace Forum, scheduled for Oct. 29–30.

As part of the forum’s high-level program, she is scheduled to speak in three sessions titled “New Coalitions for Peace, People, and the Planet,” “Facing the Fault Lines: Sovereignty in a Fragmenting World Order,” a roundtable for members of parliament, and “Fault Lines and Frontlines: Asia’s Shifting Geopolitics,” a panel discussion.

The Paris Peace Forum brings together heads of state, lawmakers, civil society leaders and international organizations to foster dialogue and cooperation on global challenges.

On the sidelines of the forum, Khuon Sudary is expected to meet with other parliamentary leaders and development partners, including Yaël Braun-Pivet, president of the French National Assembly, to promote inter-parliamentary relations and multilateral collaboration.

Her participation reflects Cambodia’s growing engagement in parliamentary diplomacy and its commitment to peace, development and international cooperation.
