Royal Railway Expands Fleet With Arrival of Three New Locomotives From Malaysia
PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Dec. 31, 2025) — Royal Railway Plc., a stock‑listed company, announced Tuesday the arrival of three new locomotives from Malaysia, marking a milestone in its efforts to expand capacity and modernize Cambodia’s rail network.

The locomotives were offloaded in Phnom Penh and will undergo rigorous inspections of braking and safety systems before entering active service, the company said.
Royal Railway noted the additions will significantly boost operational capacity to meet growing demand for both passenger and freight transport, ensuring smoother and more efficient logistics solutions nationwide.
The company said the expansion aligns with the Royal Government’s infrastructure development goals and supports broader economic growth through improved transportation services.

“Royal Railway remains committed to modernizing Cambodia’s rail network and enhancing service excellence,” the company said in a statement, adding that it is grateful for the continued trust and support of customers and partners.
Royal Railway, which operates Cambodia’s national rail system, has been steadily investing in upgrades to meet rising demand and position rail transport as a key driver of sustainable economic development.
