Cambodia Marks Two-Year Anniversary of Siem Reap Angkor International Airport
SIEM REAP, Cambodia (Oct.16, 2025) — Cambodia on Thursday marked the second anniversary of the official launch of Siem Reap Angkor International Airport (SAI), with a ceremony attended by Dr. Mao Havannall, Minister in charge of the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation.
The event also featured the unveiling of two commemorative statues — one honoring “Preah Reach Kru Teveakar Bandit” and another of “Jiv Ta Kvan” — installed at the airport to celebrate the occasion, according to State Secretariat spokesman Sinn Chansereyvutha.
The anniversary coincides with the 67th year of diplomatic relations between Cambodia and China, highlighting the countries’ deep-rooted cultural ties and more than 2,000 years of exchange in diplomacy and heritage.
The statue installations were initiated by the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation in close collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts and Angkor International Airport Investment (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. (AIAI), as part of the commemorative activities.
