Samdech Techo Hun Sen meets Danish ambassador to discuss bilateral ties

Phnom Penh, 16 March 2026 (KPT) – Senate President Samdech Techo Hun Sen held a courtesy meeting with Denmark’s Ambassador to Cambodia, Danny Annan, on Monday at the Independence Hall of the National Assembly.
Chea Thyrith, spokesperson for the National Assembly, said Samdech Techo welcomed the ambassador and expressed hope that Cambodia–Denmark relations would continue to strengthen under Ambassador Annan’s tenure.
Samdech Techo highlighted the longstanding friendship between the two countries and looked forward to joint activities marking the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations next year.
Ambassador Annan thanked Samdech Techo Hun Sen for the meeting and discussed efforts to expand cooperation in political, economic, trade, and investment sectors. Hun Sen welcomed the remarks, noting that economic and trade relations still hold significant potential for growth.
The two leaders also exchanged views on current international issues, including the Cambodia–Thailand border situation. Hun Sen stressed the importance of maintaining a ceasefire and resolving disputes through peaceful negotiation. Ambassador Annan expressed satisfaction with Cambodia’s commitment to a peaceful resolution.
The meeting concluded with Samdech Techo Hun Sen wishing Ambassador Annan success in his diplomatic mission in Cambodia.
