PHNOM PENH, April 29, 2026 (KPT) — The Pizza Company is set to leave the Cambodian market after more than two decades, with its local operator EFG Cambodia preparing to launch a new, locally developed pizza brand, the company said Wednesday.

The transition has become visible in recent weeks, with signage at several outlets covered, prompting curiosity among customers. EFG Cambodia confirmed the move, describing it as part of a planned shift rather than a sudden closure.

The exit follows the recent acquisition of EFG Cambodia by Palms Food International, a Singapore based company with regional food and beverage operations.

For over 20 years, The Pizza Company has been a familiar presence in Cambodia, serving as a go to destination for families and social gatherings. Company representatives acknowledged the brand’s long standing role in the market and expressed appreciation to customers.

EFG executives said the new Cambodian owned brand will reflect evolving local tastes and consumer expectations, as the food and beverage sector becomes increasingly competitive.

“This new brand is the result of years of listening and understanding the Cambodian market,” said Virak Tep, adding that the concept aims to deliver something uniquely Cambodian. Further details are expected in the coming weeks.
