Public‑Private Push Aims to Boost Cambodia’s Logistics Hub Ambitions
PREAH SIHANOUK, July 6, 2026 (KPT) — Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol and EuroCham Cambodia have pledged closer public‑private collaboration to strengthen Cambodia’s transport and logistics sector, aiming to improve supply chain efficiency and position the country as a competitive regional hub.
The commitment was underscored during a meeting chaired by Chanthol, who also serves as First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia and Chairman of the National Logistics Council. EuroCham Chairman Tassilo Brinzer led the chamber’s delegation.

Senior officials from the CDC, the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port, the General Department of Customs and Excise, the Phnom Penh–Sihanoukville Expressway, Royal Railway PLC and private‑sector representatives joined the discussions.
Talks focused on enhancing import and export cargo transportation, maximizing use of existing infrastructure and addressing logistics challenges identified through EuroCham’s research. Chanthol welcomed recommendations from industry stakeholders, stressing the need to deepen trade facilitation reforms and accelerate Cambodia’s ambition to become a regional logistics hub.
Officials from the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port presented PASNet, a mobile application launched in 2023 to provide real‑time information and digital services for shipping companies, traders and freight operators. Integrated with partner banks in 2025 and connected to the ASYCUDA Hub in 2026, the platform now links port operations with Cambodia’s computerized customs system.
The digital integration is expected to streamline cargo clearance, improve operational efficiency and facilitate international trade through Cambodia’s largest seaport.
Following the meeting, Chanthol led a site visit to the port to inspect infrastructure upgrades and assess capacity for rising trade volumes. The visit highlighted government efforts to modernize Cambodia’s logistics ecosystem through stronger collaboration, digital innovation and strategic investment.
