Cambodia Chamber of Commerce Strengthens New Zealand Presence To Boost Trade and Investment

AUCKLAND, July 22, 2026 (KPT) – The Cambodia Chamber of Commerce in New Zealand has strengthened its presence with official registration and a new strategic roadmap aimed at expanding bilateral trade, attracting investment and creating market opportunities for Cambodian businesses, officials said Thursday.

At a members’ meeting in Auckland, the Chamber approved initiatives to deepen commercial ties, including connecting exporters and importers, pursuing Memoranda of Understanding with business institutions, organizing exhibitions of Cambodian products and promoting Cambodian goods in the New Zealand market.

The Chamber said the measures are designed to build business networks, facilitate cross‑border trade and support long‑term economic cooperation. Members also agreed to expand participation by Cambodian entrepreneurs and professionals across New Zealand, strengthening the nationwide network and generating more opportunities for collaboration.

To improve operations, the Chamber approved appointments to its Finance and Public Affairs teams, providing clearer roles to support future programs.

The meeting followed a milestone after the Chamber officially registered its representative office in New Zealand under the Incorporated Societies Act 2022. The registration, finalized on May 5, came after Cambodia formally recognized the Chamber’s president and executive members for their inaugural mandate in Auckland.

Officials said the process was completed in accordance with New Zealand law, reflecting growing economic cooperation and strong partnership between the two countries. With its legal status and expanded agenda, the Chamber aims to serve as a bridge between Cambodian and New Zealand businesses, facilitating investment, promoting exports and supporting stronger private‑sector engagement.
