CDC approves $966 million in new investments as SEZ expansion accelerates
PHNOM PENH, Mar. 13, 2026 (KPT) — Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) approved 105 investment projects worth nearly $966 million in the first two months of 2026, underscoring investor confidence and government efforts to strengthen the business climate, officials said Thursday.
The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) said the projects are expected to create about 39,000 jobs across sectors ranging from garments and footwear to solar panels and electrical components. In February alone, 42 projects worth $166 million were registered.

Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol, First Vice Chairman of the CDC, said the steady rise in investment reflects strong confidence in Cambodia’s economic potential. He noted that reforms have been introduced to improve the business environment and facilitate investment.
The government also announced the establishment of the Canadia National Road 51 Special Economic Zone in Kampong Speu province, covering 518 hectares, and the Grand Bokor SEZ Administration in Preah Sihanouk province to oversee customs and streamline procedures.
According to the CDC, Cambodia approved 630 projects worth $10 billion in 2025, a 45 percent increase from 2024, reinforcing its appeal as a regional investment destination.
