Kingdom’s Exports to U.S. Jump Nearly 40% in Early 2026
PHNOM PENH, Mar. 11, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia’s exports to the United States surged almost 40 percent in the first two months of 2026, cementing Washington’s role as Phnom Penh’s largest trading partner, official data showed Tuesday.
The General Department of Customs and Excise said shipments to the U.S. reached $2.26 billion from January to February, up 39 percent year-on-year. Total bilateral trade hit $2.34 billion, also rising nearly 40 percent.

Imports from the United States climbed 34.2 percent to more than $80 million, while Cambodian exports — dominated by garments, textiles, footwear and travel goods — accounted for the bulk of trade.
Commerce Ministry spokesman Penn Sovicheat said access to the U.S. market remained “crucial” for Cambodia’s export sector. But economist Ky Sereyvath of the Royal Academy of Cambodia warned of risks in relying too heavily on one market, urging diversification and stronger vocational training to bolster the workforce.
Cambodia’s main exports to the U.S. include garments, travel goods, bicycles and consumer products. American shipments to Cambodia consist of vehicles, machinery, jewelry, cosmetics, electrical equipment and electronics.
According to the ministry, bilateral trade totaled $13.14 billion in 2025, up 29 percent from 2024, with Cambodian exports valued at $12.73 billion.
