PHNOM PENH, Mar. 10, 2026 (KPT) — A Japanese business delegation has visited Cambodia to explore investment opportunities and strengthen economic and trade cooperation, officials said Monday.

The group held talks with Lim Socheat, vice president of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, who represented chamber president Kith Meng. The delegation was led by Ros Reasey, head of the chamber’s office in Sendai, Japan.

Reasey said the visit aimed to expand economic ties between the two countries, noting it was the delegation’s first trip to Cambodia. He added that business leaders were impressed by Cambodia’s rapid development, contrasting with earlier perceptions shaped by news and social media.

The visiting entrepreneurs represented sectors including real estate, trade, restaurants, cosmetics, and elderly care services. Socheat welcomed the delegation and praised the chamber’s office in Japan for its role in promoting bilateral cooperation.

He encouraged Japanese investors to seize opportunities in Cambodia and build partnerships with local businesses, stressing the country’s favorable investment environment and growing appeal to international investors.
