Cambodia urges IDECGroup Asia to develop specialized SEZs, agro-processing projects
PHNOM PENH, Feb 19, 2026 (KPT) – Cambodia’s investment authority has encouraged IDECGroup Asia to explore specialized Special Economic Zones (SEZs) and agro-processing projects, as part of efforts to attract high-quality investment and strengthen domestic value chains, officials said Thursday.
During talks at the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), Chea Vuthy, Secretary-General of the Cambodian Investment Board, met with IDECGroup Asia CEO François Magnier to discuss potential opportunities in sectors with strong growth prospects.

Vuthy urged the company to consider SEZs focused on specific industrial clusters, noting IDECGroup Asia’s expertise in design, construction and infrastructure could support investors with industrial facilities and factory services.
He also highlighted agro-industrial sectors such as rice milling, cashew and rubber processing, and plantation-based wood industries, encouraging the firm to assess projects that would add value to Cambodia’s agricultural outputs and enhance export competitiveness.
