CGCC Tops $500 Million in Guarantees to Support MSMEs
PHNOM PENH, Jan 23, 2026 (KPT) – The Cambodia Credit Guarantee Corporation (CGCC) has issued more than US$500 million in loan guarantees to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), helping thousands of businesses recover and expand after the slowdown in economic activity.
By the end of 2025, CGCC had guaranteed 9,556 loans worth US$521 million, enabling MSMEs to maintain working capital and sustain growth.

CGCC chief executive No Lida said the corporation covers up to 80 percent of loan values, reducing risks for banks and microfinance institutions and improving access to finance for smaller firms.
The government expects the guarantees will encourage financial institutions to extend credit more widely to MSMEs.
CGCC, a public enterprise under the Ministry of Economy and Finance, has a mandate to promote financial inclusion and support SME development. In addition to bank loan guarantees, it also provides bond guarantees in the securities sector and runs an entrepreneur training initiative known as the EPIC programme.
