The Digital Adoption Initiative, unveiled during a two-day workshop held Sept. 25–26 in Phnom Penh, will support hundreds of Cambodian MSMEs in adopting digital technologies through 2028. The program will roll out sector by sector, beginning with tourism.

“The Digital Adoption Initiative will support MSMEs to integrate digital solutions into their daily operations, helping them become more competitive, resilient, and future-ready,” said Jyotsana Varma, ADB country director for Cambodia.

Cambodia’s broader digital push is guided by the Cambodia Digital Economy and Society Policy Framework (2021–2035), which aims to build a vibrant digital economy and society.

Dr. Nguonly Taing, executive director of the Techo Startup Center, said the initiative will provide MSMEs with practical tools to grow stronger in the digital economy, with a focus on sectors where digital solutions can drive competitiveness, job creation and women’s entrepreneurship.

The workshop brought together government officials and development partners to finalize the initiative’s roadmap and implementation plans.
