PHNOM PENH, Mar. 25, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia has advanced its public financial management reform with the launch of Phase II of a digital system aimed at strengthening transparency, accountability and efficiency in state asset oversight.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance said Tuesday the upgraded State Asset Register Management Information System (SARMIS) will now cover municipal, district and commune administrations nationwide, following its initial rollout to ministries and provincial authorities in 2025.

The expansion marks a key step in modernizing asset management, enabling comprehensive tracking of public property across all levels of government. Local administrations must migrate existing data, complete registration of 2025 inventories and maintain annual updates under standardized reporting rules.

The platform is designed to streamline processes, reduce inefficiencies and improve data accuracy, reinforcing fiscal discipline and governance.

The nationwide rollout forms part of Cambodia’s broader drive to integrate digital solutions into public administration, supporting better resource allocation and stronger institutional capacity. Authorities expect the system to boost public sector performance and build confidence in government financial management.
