Cambodia registers $2.56 billion in trust sector as listings rise
By Leng Deth
PHNOM PENH, Mar. 25, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia’s trust sector has registered a total of 1,805 cases with assets worth around 2.56 billion dollars, reflecting steady growth in real estate, escrow services and other trust activities, the regulator said.

Sok Dara, Director General of the Trust Regulator, expressed optimism that the market will continue to expand, noting that early‑year data already shows an increase in registrations.
The trust industry covers four broad categories: public trusts, commercial trusts, social trusts and private trusts. Trusts are non‑bank financial services that manage, safeguard or allocate assets on behalf of individuals or companies for designated beneficiaries, in line with legal instruments or regulations.

The sector plays an important role in supporting Cambodia’s commercial and social development by attracting social funds and investment flows from both domestic and international sources.
The regulator added that strengthening the trust framework will help build confidence among investors and contribute to the country’s broader economic growth.
