Private sector sees strong reform gains as Cambodia reports 94 percent completion under G PSF

PHNOM PENH, Mar. 25, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia’s private sector has reported strong progress in reforms, with nearly 94 percent of measures under the Government–Private Sector Forum (G PSF) successfully implemented, officials said Wednesday.

The update was presented at an inter-ministerial meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol at the Council for the Development of Cambodia. The meeting reviewed reforms carried out in the second half of 2025 and discussed next steps to strengthen the investment climate.

Out of 179 measures introduced at the 19th G PSF, 169 have been completed, while the remainder are advancing. Officials said the forum has also resolved almost 88 percent of private sector concerns, reflecting improved responsiveness and coordination across ministries.

Key ministries, including the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Ministry of Interior, reported high completion rates, while others continue to implement outstanding measures. Draft standard operating procedures were also reviewed to enhance the efficiency and structure of the G PSF mechanism.

Authorities said the progress demonstrates Cambodia’s commitment to fostering a transparent, predictable and business friendly environment. The G PSF remains a central platform for dialogue between government and business, enabling timely problem solving and policy improvements.

 The reforms are helping attract investment, support private sector growth and improve the ease of doing business, positioning the forum as a pillar of Cambodia’s economic development strategy.
