Cambodia attracts US$222 million in new investments in April
PHNOM PENH, May 20, 2026 (KPT) – Cambodia approved 42 new investment projects worth about US$222 million in April, reflecting sustained investor confidence in the kingdom’s industrial and economic growth, official data showed Wednesday.
The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) said the projects are expected to create around 24,000 jobs across manufacturing, agro-industry and processing industries.

Of the total, 23 projects were directly approved by the CDC, representing US$158 million in capital and about 18,000 jobs.
Thirteen of these are located outside Special Economic Zones (SEZs), while 10 are within SEZs.
Among the notable projects is a US$20 million fruit plantation and processing factory in Battambang province’s Banan district, expected to employ 174 workers. Within SEZs, a US$9.6 million tire-related oil products factory in the Xin Bavet SEZ in Svay Rieng province will create about 350 jobs.
Cambodia approved 146 investment projects worth US$2.5 billion in the first quarter of 2026, expected to generate roughly 82,000 jobs. The CDC noted that 2025 was a record year, with more than US$10 billion in investment approvals across 630 projects, generating over 438,000 jobs.
