Koh Kong, June 28, 2026 (KPT) – Cambodia’s Koh Kong Zhejiang Special Economic Zone (SEZ) has drawn more than US$567 million in investment across 76 projects in just over two years, rapidly emerging as one of the country’s largest furniture manufacturing hubs and a key driver of industrial growth, officials said Saturday.

The progress was highlighted during a June 27 visit by Chea Vuthy, Secretary General of the Cambodian Investment Board (CIB) of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), who led a delegation to inspect development and investment activities at the SEZ.

Located in Srae Ambel district, Koh Kong province, the zone was established in 2024 and has become one of Cambodia’s fastest-growing industrial parks. About 45 percent of its land area has already been developed, with modern infrastructure including road networks, electricity systems, water reservoirs, a treatment plant and worker housing.

According to the CDC, the SEZ has secured 76 investment projects with combined capital exceeding US$567 million. Of these, 41 projects are under construction while 35 factories are already operating. The investments have created jobs for more than 5,000 Cambodian workers, with businesses seeking an additional 3,000 employees as operations expand.

The zone has evolved into a major cluster for furniture components and finished products, supporting Cambodia’s economic diversification. Workers receive competitive monthly salaries of at least US$350, benefiting local communities and attracting labour from other provinces.

The CDC said the rapid expansion reflects strong investor confidence in Cambodia’s business environment, noting that despite global economic uncertainty, investment and infrastructure development continue to advance steadily.
