Law Students from the Royal University of Law and Economics Win First Place in the Cambodia Moot Court Competition 2026

PHNOM PENH, Mar. 31, 2026 (KPT) — Law students from the Royal University of Law and Economics (RULE) demonstrated outstanding performance and strong legal advocacy skills, ultimately winning first place in the Cambodia Moot Court Competition 2026 after competing against 15 teams from 9 universities.

This Competition was organized by the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC) in collaboration with Pannasastra University of Cambodia, from March 27 to 29, 2026. The competition aimed to strengthen law students’ research abilities, legal analysis, and practical advocacy skills in simulated court proceedings.

Cambodia Moot Court Competition

As a result of their exceptional performance, the RULE teams achieved remarkable success, including:

  • 1st Place Winner/Champion – Mr. Oeng Bunkeat, Mr. Lay Kimlin, Mr. Ngeth Sokvisal and Ms. Phean Leakhana
  • 1st Best Written Memorial – Mr. Oeng Bunkeat, Mr. Lay Kimlin, Mr. Ngeth Sokvisal and Ms. Phean Leakhana
  • 2nd Best Written Memorial – Ms. Chenda Bophapich, Ms. Kham Sophanith, Ms. Both Rotanaliza and Ms. Lay Sophea
  • 2nd Best Oralist for Prosecutor – Mr. Lay Kimlin

This remarkable achievement is a great source of pride for the university, reflecting a high level of commitment, tireless effort, and excellence in legal education and training of the Royal University of Law and Economics. The students were guided under two coaches, namely Mr. Long Panharith, Attorney-at-law, and Ms. Heang Nayheak, Attorney-at-law.
