PHNOM PENH, Mar. 12, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia is intensifying diplomatic engagement with partner countries while keeping the protection of territorial integrity and citizens as its top priority, government spokesperson Pen Bona said Thursday.

He stressed that Prime Minister Hun Manet’s administration is pursuing “strengthening old friendships and expanding new friendships” as part of its foreign policy, particularly at a time when border tensions with Thailand remain sensitive.

On March 11, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn led an official visit to Singapore, holding talks with Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening ties, highlighting cooperation in food security, renewable energy and the digital economy.

Sokhonn also briefed Singaporean leaders on developments along the Cambodia–Thailand border and the situation of displaced civilians.

Balakrishnan said Cambodia and Thailand must continue to uphold the ceasefire and resolve differences peacefully through dialogue.

Pen Bona reiterated that Cambodia remains committed to resolving the issue through peaceful mechanisms and in line with international law, while reinforcing regional partnerships to safeguard stability.
