Cambodia and Hungary Sign MOU to Strengthen Legislative Cooperation

PHNOM PENH, March 12, 2026 (KPT) – Cambodia’s Senate and the Hungarian National Assembly have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to deepen institutional cooperation and bolster bilateral ties, officials said Thursday.
The agreement was formalised during a meeting between Uch Borarith, Secretary-General of the Cambodian Senate, and György Such at the Samakeephap Hall of the Senate on March 11.
The MOU outlines collaboration through experience-sharing, study visits, professional dialogues and capacity-building activities, aimed at delivering practical benefits for both institutions and reinforcing broader relations.
Ahead of the signing, both officials praised the long-standing friendship between Cambodia and Hungary, highlighting growing exchanges between their legislative bodies through high-level visits and dialogue.
Discussions also touched on ways to make cooperation more practical in light of global developments affecting peace, security and development.
Key areas of focus included economic growth, energy, education, tourism, people-to-people exchanges and regional issues of mutual concern.
Both sides expressed confidence the MOU would serve as a foundation for expanding collaboration and strengthening the partnership between the two countries.
