Cambodia’s Election Body Approves 2026 Voter Registration Plans

PHNOM PENH, Mar. 6, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia’s National Election Committee has approved plans for voter list verification and registration ahead of the 2026 polls.
The decisions were made at a meeting chaired Thursday by NEC president Prach Chan. Members endorsed the minutes of a January 20 session, with minor wording changes, and adopted a human resources plan covering recruitment, appointment and training of staff for the registration process.
The committee also approved a schedule of consultation meetings with stakeholders and cleared the content of seven types of printed materials, including press bulletins, public announcements, brochures, journalist cards, educational booklets, stickers and press folders.
Five public education tools were endorsed, ranging from Q&A leaflets and posters to brochures and booklets explaining voter list verification. Two promotional banners will be displayed in public areas to raise awareness.
Officials said the measures are designed to ensure transparency and efficiency in the registration campaign, which will be a key step toward the 2026 national elections.
