Cambodia’s Foreign Minister Holds Bilateral Talks with European, Central Asian Counterparts in Geneva
GENEVA, Feb 25, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn held a series of bilateral meetings with European and Central Asian counterparts on Feb 23–24, on the sidelines of the 61st session of the United Nations Human Rights Council.
On Feb 24, Prak Sokhonn received Ana Isabel Xavier, Portugal’s Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, for a courtesy call.
He welcomed strong ties between the two countries as they prepare to mark the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2027, and expressed hopes for increased Portuguese investment in agriculture, digital technology and renewable energy.
He also briefed Xavier on recent developments along the Cambodia–Thailand border.
The same day, he met Juraj Blanár, Slovakia’s Foreign Minister, to discuss commemorating 70 years of diplomatic relations through expanded cooperation in economic development, cultural exchange and tourism.
On Feb 23, Prak Sokhonn held talks with Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Zheenbek Kulubaev, reaffirming commitments to strengthen cooperation in trade, tourism, education and health, following the 30th anniversary of ties in 2025.
