PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Dec. 8, 2025) — Cambodia’s National Assembly on Monday condemned Thailand for launching F 16 airstrikes, heavy weapon attacks and toxic smoke assaults on Cambodian territory, saying the aggression caused civilian deaths, injuries and extensive property damage in Preah Vihear, Banteay Meanchey and Oddar Meanchey provinces.

Lawmakers said Thailand’s actions violated the Cambodia–Thailand Peace Agreement signed in October and witnessed by U.S. President Donald Trump and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, as well as the ASEAN Charter, the U.N. Charter and international law. The Assembly warned the attacks pose a serious threat to regional peace and stability.

Despite the strikes, Cambodian officials said their forces exercised restraint and did not return fire, reaffirming the country’s commitment to peaceful dispute resolution and adherence to international agreements.

The National Assembly urged Thailand to halt its aggression immediately and called on ASEAN and the wider international community to condemn the violations and press Bangkok to take full responsibility under international law.
