Cambodia, U.S. Pledge to Strengthen Economic Cooperation
PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Sept. 5, 2025) — The Cambodian Ministry of Commerce and representatives from the U.S. Embassy have reaffirmed their commitment to expanding economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
During a meeting at the Ministry of Commerce, Secretary of State Rath Saravuth welcomed Blake Dawgert, economic and commercial officer at the U.S. Embassy in Phnom Penh. Saravuth expressed hope that Dawgert’s mission in Cambodia would help enhance bilateral trade, attract more U.S. investment, and increase imports of American products.

Dawgert emphasized the U.S. Embassy’s support for Cambodian entrepreneurs seeking to export local products and pursue direct investment opportunities in the U.S. market. She also outlined priority areas for future discussions, including joint agreements and efforts to encourage U.S. investment in key sectors of Cambodia’s economy.

The meeting underscored both nations’ desire to deepen their economic partnership and strengthen long-term collaboration.
