HO CHI MINH CITY, Vietnam (Sept. 4, 2025) — Cambodia’s Minister of Tourism HUOT Hak met with a delegation of Middle Eastern investors in Ho Chi Minh City on Thursday evening to discuss investment opportunities and the growing potential of Muslim-friendly tourism in Cambodia.

The meeting, held at the Rex Hotel, brought together business leaders from various sectors operating in Vietnam. Minister HUOT briefed the group on Cambodia’s political and economic landscape, highlighting the country’s stability, safety, and investor-friendly policies.

He emphasized Cambodia’s emergence as a promising tourism market, citing its peaceful environment, active labor force, and expanding infrastructure. The minister also underscored the government’s commitment to supporting Muslim-friendly tourism, noting ongoing efforts to improve halal-certified services, prayer facilities, and culturally inclusive hospitality.

“Cambodia is a safe, warm, and welcoming destination for international visitors,” HUOT said, reaffirming the country’s dedication to peace and cooperation with all friendly nations.

The meeting follows Cambodia’s broader strategy to diversify its tourism base and attract high-spending travelers from the Middle East, a region that accounted for over 430,000 visitors in 2024. Recent direct flight connections from Gulf countries and expanded halal services have further positioned Cambodia as a rising destination for Muslim travelers.
