MELBOURNE, Australia (Sept 02, 2025)— Cambodia’s national currency, the riel, was officially listed on Travelex’s foreign exchange board in Melbourne on Sept. 1, marking a milestone in its international recognition.
The launch was attended by Mr.Ly Sideth, Director General of Treasurer of the National Bank of Cambodia, alongside Adam Nezval, Head of Wholesale Banknotes and Cash Operations for Travelex in Australia and New Zealand.

The collaboration aims to facilitate currency exchange for Cambodian and Australian travelers, promoting tourism and economic ties. This marks the fourth such listing, following similar launches in Chongqing, Tokyo, and Singapore. Further expansions are under study.
