DBD Engineering Q2 Revenue Surges 225% on Construction Growth

Phnom Penh, Aug. 21, 2025 — DBD Engineering Plc. posted second-quarter revenue of KHR 38.81 billion ($9.4 million), up 225.43% from KHR 11.92 billion in the same period last year, driven by a sharp increase in construction and maintenance services, according to its financial report filed with the Cambodia Securities Exchange.

Revenue from construction and maintenance accounted for KHR 38.79 billion, or 99.94% of total revenue, marking a 226.63% year-on-year increase. Sales of construction materials contributed KHR 21.91 million, down from KHR 50.47 million in Q2 2024.

Gross profit rose 217.13% to KHR 7.14 billion, while comprehensive income reached KHR 2.84 billion for the quarter. Total assets grew 9.63% year-on-year to KHR 100.43 billion, up from KHR 91.61 billion.

Chairman and CEO Neang Vithy said the company plans to expand its production line to boost material sales, which currently serve only internal construction projects. “We’re preparing to commercialize these products externally, which will diversify our revenue base,” he said in a statement dated Aug. 15.

Founded in 1995, DBD Engineering is one of Cambodia’s longest-standing engineering and construction firms, offering design, installation, and maintenance services across public and private sectors.

Cambodia approved 2,633 construction investment projects nationwide in 2024, with a combined floor area exceeding 10 million square meters and an estimated value of $4.33 billion, according to the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction.

The figures mark a 15.17% year-on-year decline in project volume, capital investment, and construction area compared to 2023, when 2,924 projects were approved with over 12 million square meters of floor space and $5.1 billion in estimated investment.

The data was released during the ministry’s annual conference to review performance and outline strategic priorities for 2025.

From 2000 through 2024, the ministry issued permits for 67,696 projects, representing a cumulative construction area of more than 197 million square meters and total estimated investment of $78.97 billion.
