Techo Hun Sen urged Cambodian citizens to consider whether former opposition leader Sam Rainsy is a human being or an animal?
On Monday, former Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen urged Cambodian citizens both at home and abroad to consider whether former opposition leader Sam Rainsy is a human being or an animal, and whether he is patriotic or a traitor to the nation.

The statement from Mr. Hun Sen, who is currently serving as the Senate President of Cambodia, came after a video was posted on social media showing the former Cambodian opposition leader and exiled dissident residing in France—criticizing Cambodian war heroes who bravely fought against invading enemy and praised the enemy soldiers instead.
A message posted on social media, Techo Hun Sen stated:
“When our people and armed forces have suffered and continue to suffer from Thai aggression, the schools, temples, homes, and even ancient temples like the Preah Vihear have been shelled by Thai troops, forcing tens of thousands of families to flee and become refugees, causing deep national pain. why would any Cambodian praise the invading Thai military and belittle our own armed forces? Are they human or animals? Are they patriots or traitors? I urge all brothers and sisters to listen carefully and reflect for yourselves.”
Regarding the video of the exiled dissident Sam Rainsy, hundreds of thousands of Cambodian citizens on social media have strongly criticized his political views, considering them acts of betrayal that disgrace the brave national heroes and aid the enemy during Cambodia’s ongoing invasion by Thailand.
