Approximately 1,500 Khmer-Americans Rally at Washington State Capitol to Protest Thai Invasion and Soldier Capture
On Sunday, August 3, 2025, approximately 1,500 Khmer citizens from Washington and Oregon gathered at the Washington State Capitol Building to protest the Thai invasion of Cambodian territory and the capture of Cambodian soldiers after the ceasefire.
The peaceful demonstration united people from all political backgrounds in defense of Cambodia’s sovereignty. With tears and gratitude, many cried out for help from the international community and U.S. President Donald Trump, urging global action to restore peace and protect Cambodia’s borders.
A memorial ceremony was also held to honor the Cambodian soldiers who lost their lives during the invasion.
