CANBERRA, March 16, 2026 (KPT) – Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn held talks with Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong on Monday, during his first official visit to the country, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and addressing regional security.

Prak Sokhonn expressed appreciation for the warm welcome extended to him and his delegation, saying he was confident the visit would deepen cooperation between the two nations.

He briefed Wong on recent developments along the Cambodia–Thailand border and exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual concern.

Later, the Cambodian foreign minister paid a courtesy call on Milton Dick, Speaker of the House of Representatives, thanking him for receiving the delegation during a parliamentary non sitting week.

Officials said the discussions underscored the importance of parliamentary diplomacy, an initiative promoted by Senate President Samdech Techo Hun Sen, as a mechanism to strengthen long standing ties.

Prak Sokhonn also toured Parliament House following the meetings, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to closer cooperation and dialogue.
