HANOI, Mar 23, 2026 (KPT) — A Cambodian delegation has reaffirmed the strength of ties with Vietnam, describing the relationship as “inseparable” and pledging deeper cooperation in trade, development and regional stability.

The delegation from the Solidarity Front for the Development of the Cambodian Motherland, led by Samdech Men Sam An, paid a courtesy call on To Lam at the Communist Party of Vietnam’s central headquarters in Hanoi.

Officials said the meeting underscored the importance both countries place on maintaining good neighbourly relations, longstanding friendship and comprehensive cooperation.

Men Sam An stressed that Cambodia and Vietnam would continue to expand economic cooperation, with a shared goal of raising bilateral trade to $20 billion in the coming years.

She said both sides would strengthen collaboration in infrastructure, agriculture and energy, while supporting each other’s reform and development efforts.

She also highlighted historical solidarity as a foundation for future partnership, recalling Cambodia’s support for Vietnam’s reunification struggle and Vietnam’s role in helping Cambodia overcome the Khmer Rouge regime.

Officials noted that the two countries will intensify coordination through party to party exchanges, joint border mechanisms and regional forums, aiming to safeguard peace and stability amid global uncertainty.

Vietnam’s economic transformation was cited as a model of reform, with Cambodian officials saying closer cooperation would help both nations sustain growth and resilience in the face of external challenges.
