Lithuanian Foreign Minister to Make First Official Visit to Cambodia

PHNOM PENH, April 24, 2026 (KPT) — Lithuania’s Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys will pay his first official visit to Cambodia this week, in what officials describe as a milestone for relations between the two countries.
The foreign ministry said Budrys will be in Phnom Penh from April 24 to 25 at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn.
He is scheduled to hold talks with Cambodian leaders and meet Prime Minister Hun Manet at the Peace Palace.
Discussions are expected to focus on strengthening bilateral cooperation and exchanging views on regional and international issues.
Budrys will also hold a bilateral meeting with Prak Sokhonn and separate talks with other senior officials.
The visit is expected to expand cooperation in areas of shared interest, marking a step forward in ties between Phnom Penh and Vilnius.
In recent years, both countries have shown interest in developing links in trade, education and multilateral cooperation, with Cambodia seeking to diversify partnerships and Lithuania increasing outreach to Southeast Asia as part of the EU’s Indo‑Pacific strategy.
