PHNOM PENH, June 1, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia marked the 77th International Children’s Day, the 25th World Day Against Child Labour and Cambodia Children’s Day 2026 with a nationwide campaign promoting child rights, peace, education and the elimination of child labour, officials said Sunday.

In a directive issued ahead of the celebrations, the government reaffirmed its commitment to protecting children’s welfare and ensuring their rights in line with the Constitution, international conventions and national development policies.

This year’s campaign is organized under the themes “Peace is the foundation for respecting and protecting children’s rights” and “Commit to eliminating the worst forms of child labour across all supply chains to build resilience and decent work.”

Authorities stressed that peace and stability are essential for children’s survival and development, while calling for stronger efforts to prevent violence, exploitation, child labour and online abuse.

Ministries, schools, NGOs and media outlets nationwide were instructed to stage awareness campaigns and public events, urging collective action from families, employers and communities to create a safer environment for Cambodian children.
