PHNOM PENH, June 30, 2026 (KPT) – Azerbaijan’s ruling New Azerbaijan Party has congratulated the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) on its 75th anniversary, hailing it as a leading political force and pledging to deepen party-to-party cooperation.
In a letter to CPP President Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Deputy Chairman Tahir Budagov praised the CPP’s role in Cambodia’s socio-economic development and growing international profile.
He said bilateral relations had advanced on the basis of mutual respect and shared interests, both directly and through international organisations.
Budagov also thanked the CPP for sending a delegation to a recent peacebuilding conference in Shusha, expressing confidence that cooperation between the two ruling parties would expand further.
Samdech Techo, in a reply dated June 29, thanked Budagov for the message and reaffirmed the CPP’s commitment to strengthening ties with the New Azerbaijan Party.
He highlighted the friendship between the two parties and their countries, noting collaboration through platforms such as the International Conference of Asian Political Parties, Centrist Democrat International, the Non-Aligned Movement, and inter-parliamentary forums.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen said he was confident the partnership would continue to grow, contributing to closer Cambodia–Azerbaijan relations and greater cooperation for the benefit of both peoples. The exchange of letters coincides with the CPP’s 75th anniversary celebrations.
