PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Oct.23, 2025) — The government of Luxembourg will open an office of its development cooperation agency, Lux-Development S.A., in Cambodia, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The move follows the official visit of His Royal Highness Grand Duke Guillaume — then Crown Prince — and the signing of a General Cooperation Agreement between the two governments on March 31, 2025.

The new office is expected to strengthen bilateral ties and contribute to Cambodia’s socio-economic development through a range of initiatives and projects.

Officials said the office marks a deepening of relations between the two countries and underscores their commitment to building a long-term partnership.

Cambodia and Luxembourg plan to collaborate in areas including economic development, poverty reduction, education and vocational training, health and social protection, sustainable development, environmental protection, humanitarian demining and community security.

Both governments welcomed the new phase of cooperation and said they are working to expedite the opening of the Lux-Development office to promote closer ties and mutual benefit.
