Thai Army Arrests Citizens Over Leaked Military Map
PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Sept.24, 2025) — The Royal Thai Army has arrested several Thai nationals for questioning following the leak of a military map showing artillery positions near the Cambodia-Thailand border, officials said Wednesday.

The map, which was shared with media outlets on Sept. 23, revealed three key locations of artillery gun deployment. Thai military officials said the leak could compromise national security, warning that the Cambodian side could use the information to pinpoint exact positions.
Although Thai media outlets have since removed the images, the army confirmed that individuals linked to the leak have been detained and charged with national treason, citing alleged conspiracy with a foreign entity.

The incident comes amid heightened tensions along the border, where both sides have recently exchanged diplomatic statements over territorial disputes and military activity.
Thai authorities have not disclosed the number of arrests or the identities of those involved, but emphasized that the matter is under investigation and being treated as a serious breach of national security.
