PHNOM PENH, March 5 (KPT) – Cambodian officials met Thursday with representatives of the EU-ASEAN Business Council (EU-ABC) to explore new avenues for European investment in the kingdom.

Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol, who also serves as First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), received the delegation led by Noel Clehane, Senior Vice Chair of EU-ABC.

The meeting was coordinated by Tassilo Brinzer, Vice Chairman of the European Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia (EuroCham).

Talks focused on Cambodia’s investment climate, highlighting advantages such as a young and skilled workforce, macroeconomic stability, a pro-business government, and strategic access to regional markets through ASEAN and free trade agreements.

Chanthol underscored reforms under the new Law on Investment, which provides incentives for foreign investors, as well as the digitalisation of public services, including the launch of the CDC’s cdcIPM system.

EU-ABC delegates, representing major European companies, voiced interest in expanding their presence in Cambodia. Both sides discussed strengthening public-private collaboration, boosting foreign direct investment, and supporting sustainable growth.

Officials described the meeting as more than a courtesy call, framing it as a platform to address operational challenges and build confidence among European investors.
