Cambodian PM Sends Lunar New Year Greetings to Chinese Leaders

PHNOM PENH, Feb 16, 2026 (KPT) – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet has extended Lunar New Year greetings to Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang, hailing what he called the “iron-clad friendship” between the two countries.

In his message to Xi, Hun Manet conveyed “warmest and sincere congratulations” to the Chinese people, underscoring political trust, economic cooperation and cultural exchanges as pillars of bilateral ties.

He voiced confidence that the partnership would deepen under the “All-Weather Cambodia-China Community with a Shared Future in the New Era,” contributing to regional stability and prosperity.

Hun Manet also thanked Beijing for its continued support, which he said had played a vital role in Cambodia’s socio-economic development.

In a separate message to Li, the prime minister reaffirmed Phnom Penh’s commitment to the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, noting progress across political, economic and cultural fields.

He pledged to advance agreed cooperation frameworks and wished the Chinese leadership and people health, success and prosperity in the Year of the Horse.
