PHNOM PENH, July 14, 2026 (KPT) – Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet’s upcoming working visit to China underscores the two countries’ shared commitment to deepen their long‑standing friendship and expand cooperation, government spokesman Pen Bona said Tuesday.

Samdech Thipadei will lead a high‑level delegation to China from July 15 to 17 at the invitation of Beijing. He is scheduled to attend the opening of the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference in Shanghai on July 17, held under the theme “Global Solidarity in the AI Era.”

“This visit will serve as a new driving force to advance the Cambodia‑China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, strengthen the Diamond Cooperation Framework, and build the Cambodia‑China All‑Weather Community with a Shared Future in the new era,” Pen Bona said.

The delegation includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol, who is also first vice chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, and Defence Minister Tea Seiha.

Other ministers, senior officials and representatives of the Cambodian business community will also join the trip.

During the visit, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet will pay a courtesy call on President Xi Jinping and hold talks with Premier Li Qiang. The meetings are expected to focus on strengthening political trust, expanding economic cooperation and promoting people‑to‑people exchanges.

Besides delivering a keynote address at the AI conference, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet is scheduled to meet leading Chinese business executives to discuss investment opportunities in Cambodia.

Officials say the visit reflects Phnom Penh’s determination to broaden ties with Beijing and reinforce cooperation across multiple sectors.
