Cambodia Hosts French Documentary Team Showcasing National Development

PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Nov.14, 2025) — Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol met with a delegation of French journalists and documentary filmmakers on Nov. 14 to discuss a new film project highlighting Cambodia’s political stability and socio-economic progress.

The delegation, which included filmmakers Michael Damon and Yves Deria, is preparing a documentary aimed at showcasing Cambodia’s development journey to international audiences.

During the meeting, Chanthol, who also serves as First Vice-Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), briefed the team on the country’s economic landscape, investment climate, and ongoing reforms.

He emphasized that the Royal Government’s reform agenda is central to achieving “Cambodia Vision 2050,” the national goal of becoming a high-income country.

The filmmakers expressed appreciation for the insights provided and said the information would help ensure the documentary reflects Cambodia’s transformation accurately and comprehensively.

Both sides also discussed Cambodia–France relations and broader international cooperation. The Cambodian delegation acknowledged France’s role in the 1991 Paris Peace Agreements, which helped pave the way for peace and development.

The meeting reinforced support for continued efforts to communicate Cambodia’s reform achievements and promote its development story to global audiences.
