PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Oct. 14, 2025) — Cambodia’s top water industry exhibition opened in Phnom Penh on Tuesday, spotlighting clean water technologies and public-private partnerships aimed at achieving universal access to safe water by 2030.

The three-day event, hosted by the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation (MISTI), in collaboration with the Cambodian Water Supply Association and Informa Markets, drew more than 100 exhibitors and experts from 10 countries to the Koh Pich Exhibition and Convention Center.

Minister Hem Vanndy stated that the conference reflects Cambodia’s commitment to Sustainable Development Goal 6.1, emphasizing that access to clean water is essential for public health, economic growth, and climate resilience.

“Strengthening capacity means helping ourselves and strengthening our country,” Vanndy said, urging operators to align with national standards and improve water quality.

Cambodia’s clean water network currently serves over 1.54 million households, with private operators contributing 36 percent of the supply. Vanndy said the government is preparing to establish a dedicated clean water regulator under the Pentagonal Strategy Phase 1.

The exhibition features live demonstrations, technical presentations, and networking sessions designed to help operators modernize infrastructure and expand rural coverage. Organizers say the event fosters innovation and collaboration to advance Cambodia’s “Water For All” goal.
