Kep Draws Over 90,000 Visitors During Pchum Ben Holiday
PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Sept.24, 2025) — More than 90,000 visitors, including foreign tourists, traveled to Kep Province during the 2025 Pchum Ben holiday, marking a 14.2% increase from last year, according to the Kep Provincial Tourism Department.

The three-day holiday saw an uptick of 11,325 visitors compared to 2024, with no reported incidents, said Bok Taeng, head of the provincial tourism office. He cited Kep Beach, Angkul Beach, Phnom Voar, Techo Peace Kep, and the province’s island areas as the most popular destinations.

Located along Cambodia’s southern coastline, Kep is the country’s smallest province by area and population. Once a French colonial seaside retreat known as Kep-sur-Mer, the province is renowned for its tranquil beaches, fresh seafood, and the nearby Rabbit Island (Koh Tonsay). In recent years, it has reemerged as a favored getaway for domestic and international tourists, especially during national holidays.
