PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Sept.17, 2025) — Cambodia earned approximately $3.98 billion from exports to ASEAN member states during the first eight months of 2025, marking a 16.18% increase compared to the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Commerce.

In the January–August period of 2024, Cambodia’s exports to ASEAN totaled $3.42 billion.

Total trade between Cambodia and ASEAN reached $10.96 billion during the same eight-month span in 2025, up 4.5% year-on-year. The figures were released on Monday in a ministry report.

Cambodia’s exports included agricultural products, garments, footwear, bags, electronics, and bicycles. Key destinations were Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei, Vietnam, Laos, and Myanmar.

Imports from ASEAN countries totaled $6.98 billion, down 1.16% from $7 billion in the same period last year. Imported goods included food and beverages, electrical and electronic equipment, construction materials, agricultural machinery, and vehicles.

Ministry spokesperson Penn Sovicheat said the rise in trade reflects recovering demand across the region and globally.
