Air Cambodia Signs Deal for China-Made COMAC Jets
Air Cambodia is set to become the latest airline to purchase Chinese-made passenger aircraft, marking a new chapter in regional aviation cooperation. The airline has signed an agreement to acquire two ARJ21 jets from the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC), with delivery expected in 2026, according to Reuters.

The ARJ21 is a regional jet designed to carry up to 90 passengers and is already in service with several Chinese carriers. Air Cambodia’s move signals growing confidence in China’s aerospace manufacturing and reflects Cambodia’s ambition to expand its domestic and regional flight network.
The deal was signed during the China-ASEAN Expo in Nanning, underscoring deepening ties between China and Southeast Asian nations. COMAC’s push into ASEAN markets comes as it seeks to challenge Western aircraft manufacturers and promote its homegrown aviation technology.

For Cambodia, the acquisition supports its broader strategy to boost tourism, improve connectivity, and modernize its aviation sector. As regional demand for air travel continues to rise, partnerships like this are expected to play a key role in shaping the future of Southeast Asia’s skies.
Air Cambodia joins a growing list of international customers embracing COMAC’s aircraft as part of a shift toward diversified fleet sourcing and regional integration.
