PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Sept.10, 2025) — Cambodia’s Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation welcomed potential investment in the country’s cashew processing sector, aiming to position Cambodian cashews as a global leader.

On Sept. 9, Minister of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation Hem Vanndy met with representatives from Kampu Nuts Agro Product and China National Machinery Industry Corp., also known as SINOMACH, to discuss opportunities for strengthening Cambodia’s cashew industry.

The delegation expressed interest in investing in processing facilities, introducing advanced machinery and partnering with local enterprises to boost production. They noted Cambodia’s large supply of high-quality cashew nuts and emphasized the importance of developing processing capabilities within the country to meet growing demand in China.

“We encourage the company to bring in modern techniques and technology while upholding safety and quality standards,” Vanndy said. “The ministry stands ready to provide laboratory services, promote national standards and collaborate with key stakeholders to enhance productivity in this sub-sector.”

Vanndy also urged the companies to support farmer training, value-chain integration and productivity improvements to help develop Cambodia’s cashew sector.
