Cambodian Prime Minister to Attend SCO Plus Summit in China
PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (August 30, 2025) — Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet will lead a high-level delegation to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Plus Summit in Tianjin, China, from Aug. 30 to Sept. 1, at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation announced Saturday.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet will be joined by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister and Council for the Development of Cambodia First Vice President Sun Chanthol, as well as senior government officials and representatives from the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce and the Cambodian Oknha Association.
The summit, hosted under China’s rotating presidency, will convene leaders from more than 20 countries and 10 international organizations to discuss multilateral cooperation, regional security and sustainable development.
Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet is scheduled to deliver remarks on the summit’s theme, “Implementing Multilateralism, Ensuring Regional Security and Promoting Sustainable Development.”

On the sidelines of the summit, he will hold bilateral talks with Xi to deepen the countries’ Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and expand “win-win” cooperation. Additional meetings with foreign leaders are expected to focus on strengthening bilateral ties and regional collaboration.
