PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Aug. 26, 2025) — Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet has extended warm congratulations to Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the people of Malaysia on the occasion of the country’s 68th National Day, while commending Malaysia’s leadership in fostering regional peace and cooperation.

In a formal letter, Hun Manet described Malaysia as a “shining example of unity and harmony” in Southeast Asia, highlighting its contributions on both regional and global stages. He emphasized the enduring friendship between Cambodia and Malaysia, built on mutual respect, trust and decades of cooperation.

The prime minister also expressed deep appreciation for Malaysia’s proactive role as ASEAN Chair in 2025, particularly its efforts in facilitating the Extraordinary Meeting of the General Border Committee between Cambodia and Thailand on Aug. 7 in Kuala Lumpur. The meeting, he said, brought renewed hope for lasting peace amid ongoing border tensions.
