PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Aug. 21, 2025) — Cambodia and Myanmar have agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation to combat and dismantle online scams, following a high-level meeting between Cambodian and Myanmar officials in Phnom Penh.

Chhay Sinarith, Deputy Minister and Chairman of Cambodia’s Secretariat for Countering Technology-Driven Scams, met with Kyaw Soe Min, Myanmar’s Ambassador to Cambodia, to discuss joint efforts in tackling cyber fraud and cross-border criminal networks.

During the meeting, Chhay emphasized the importance of coordinated action under the leadership of Prime Minister Hun Manet, noting that Cambodia is expanding both bilateral and multilateral cooperation to improve enforcement and intelligence sharing.
