Cambodia promotes film industry at Hong Kong FILMART 2026
PHNOM PENH, Mar. 27, 2026 (KPT) – Cambodia has made a strong push to position itself as a competitive international filming destination at the Hong Kong International Film & TV Market (FILMART), officials said Friday.
Led by the Cambodia Tourism Board (CTB) and the Department of Cinema and Cultural Diffusion (CDDC), the delegation included leading production companies showcasing the country’s diverse landscapes, expanding production capabilities and supportive regulatory framework.

A seminar titled “Cambodia, Your Next Film Destination” highlighted incentives for foreign filmmakers, including streamlined permits, competitive costs and a new location scouting program offering up to five days of on ground support. Delegates also discussed co production and investment opportunities.
FILMART, one of Asia’s premier entertainment marketplaces, drew around 8,000 professionals from 53 countries and regions, with more than 790 exhibitors representing 38 markets. Cambodian representatives engaged with over 100 international partners, opening pathways for collaborations and co productions.
Director Chhay Bora of Palm Film Production said the event created “new pathways for co production, distribution and international investment in Cambodian film projects.”
CTB also signed a memorandum of understanding with Oceanus Media Global to co create cross border microdramas, underscoring Cambodia’s ambition to expand partnerships and strengthen its film ecosystem.
